Grass on the roof

Grass on the roof? Not as strange as it looks! It's called an extensive green roof and helps to cool the building through evaporative cooling, so less air conditioner use is needed. There’s also less rainwater runoff than from a tiled roof, so it’s also great for reducing flood risk. This ‘technology’ has been around for centuries, so why is it not used more? We’re investing in ESCAPE to show what is possible with a bit of effort.
